Pricing
At South Shore Divorce Mediation, we believe in transparent pricing. Our mediators charge at a rate of $425.00 per hour while our mediation coaches charge at a rates between $375 and $425 per hour. We follow a “pay-as-you-go” model for divorce mediation that includes an initial payment of $2,500 covering 5.9 hours of mediation. We require a prepaid retainer of $2,500 for mediation coaching. We draw funds from the retainer as our mediators and mediation coaches accrue time providing services. Clients can request a a full refund of all unbilled retainer funds at any time.
Pricing: “Pay-As-You-Go” Mediation
Initial payment: $2,500.00 for first 5.9 hours of mediation. If you elect to receive less than 5.9 hours of mediation, you will be charged for only the time used, and the balance of your initial payment will be refunded.
Hourly Rate: $425/HR
Payments for additional work: Approximately every 30 days, or when your client fund account becomes depleted, we will send you an invoice showing the charges you have incurred so far. If the remaining funds in your client fund account drops below $650.00, we will request an additional retainer payment from to bring the balance of your client fund account to $1,250.00.
Pricing: Mediation Coaching
Consultation: $375/HR to $425/HR
Standard Retainer: $2,500
Hourly Rate: $375/HR to $425/HR
Description: Mediation coaching is a form of legal representation in which a family law attorney assists a client who is engaged in mediation. Like all cases involving legal representation through Lynch & Owens, P.C., we charge for consultations at the hourly rate that each of our attorneys charge. A typical retainer for mediation coaching is $2,500.00.
End of Services and Retainer Refund: Either client or the conciliator may terminate services at any time. Upon the termination of services, SSDM will bill any uninvoiced time or expenses, and shall then refund all remaining retainer funds to the client(s).
Pricing: Divorce Conciliation
Standard Retainer: $1,700 (4 hours at $425/hr)
Hourly Rate: $425/HR
Description: Each of our five mediators are experienced family law attorneys who act as conciliators in divorce and family law cases. Our conciliators require a retainer of $1,700 which covers their first 4.0 hours of work, including 1.0 hours to review pleadings/memos, and 3.0 hours for the conciliation session and follow up. If parties request a memo/report from the conciliator, this will generally cost an additional 1.0 hours to the retainer (e.g. an initial retainer of $2,125). In many cases, parties share the cost of the conciliation. However, it is also not unusual for one party to pay the fee of the conciliator. The conciliator’s opinions are not impacted by which party pays the fee.
